About PreMed

PreMed Inc. is the headquarters of KAIZEN Group, a group of medical facilities in Tokyo. We began as a clinic consultancy and now support the group's operations as its headquarters.
One by one, we move tasks that once depended on people's hands at the front desk and in the consultation room into systems — giving staff more time with patients.

01philosophy

Philosophy

What lies beyond efficiency.

Given how fast AI is advancing, efficient reservations and check-in will soon be standard at every medical facility. Efficiency and convenience alone will eventually stop being a reason to be chosen. The facilities that will keep being chosen are those people feel are worth the visit.

To put people's care and time into that experience, everything else has to take less effort. For us, efficiency is the means to that end.
Digital transformation in healthcare is not about replacing paper with screens.

02vision

Vision

Making medical facilities
a better, more positive place.

Not only clinics, but hospitals too. Beyond conveniences like shorter waits and simpler paperwork, we want people to find the time they spend at a medical facility genuinely comfortable — through spatial design, interiors and the way staff welcome them.

03mission

Mission

Delivering high-quality care,
efficiently.

What the front desk checks by eye, what staff copy from one system into another — we move this work into systems, creating time for staff to welcome the patient in front of them.

The mission is KAIZEN Group's philosophy. The group also holds a second commitment: "Making visits to the clinic a positive experience."

04values

what we
care about.

  1. 01

Every employee is an FDE forward deployed

Whether in planning or business development, we go onto the floor of medical facilities, see what is happening with our own eyes, and fix the systems ourselves.

  2. 02

Turning medical facilities into an OS clinic os · hospital os

We bring the headquarters' operating know-how and the systems for reservations, intake questionnaires and patient communication together into one OS, so clinics that join through succession and newly opened clinics alike run on the same OS. Following clinic os, we are developing hospital os for hospitals.

  3. 03

    Great design design

Clinic spaces and interiors, reservation screens, the wording of guidance, even this website. To make time spent at a medical facility feel comfortable, we treat everything people see as a subject of design.

  4. 04

    Building what lasts long-term

We choose what remains as systems and documentation over quick fixes, building up things that stay useful as clinics grow in number and people change.

headquarters

clinic systems have long been built for people operating screens. patients and staff adjust to the system, copy the same data between systems, and answer the same questions again and again.

ai is changing that premise. the cost and time of building software have fallen, and people who know the floor can now build their own systems.

premed began as a clinic consultancy and is now the headquarters of kaizen group — management, the clinic floor and software, in one team.

efficiency alone will soon stop being a reason to be chosen. we reduce every other task so that people can put their time and care into the experience itself.

making medical facilities — clinics and hospitals — a more positive place.

Management, the floor
and systems, in one team

Operations software has long been built on the assumption that people operate it on screens. Patients and staff have adapted to the system's design, copied the same information into other systems, and answered the same questions again and again.

AI is changing that assumption. The cost and time of building software have dropped sharply, and people who know the floor can now build systems with their own hands.

PreMed began as a clinic consultancy. Today, as the headquarters of KAIZEN Group, one team handles management planning, improvement on the floor and building the systems.

Efficiency and convenience alone will eventually stop being a reason to be chosen. We cut every other task and put people's care and time into the experience of being at a medical facility.

By “steps” we mean the number of actions someone has to take to get something done: the front desk checking by eye, staff copying into another system, a patient writing the same thing again. We count each of these steps and judge every decision by whether it reduces their total without lowering the quality of care. If putting in steps up front to build a system means far fewer steps from then on, those steps are worth taking.

Above all, the steps of doctors, staff and patients are the most precious. What a system can take on, we hand to the system; people's steps go to what only people can do.

Making medical facilities a better, more positive place. Not only clinics, but hospitals too.

Headquarters

As the headquarters of KAIZEN Group

As headquarters, we handle KAIZEN Group clinics' management planning, patient acquisition through websites and advertising, recruiting, procurement, legal work such as contract review, and claims review. Aligning operating procedures across the group, including clinics that joined through succession, is also our job.
We also build our own systems for reservations, intake questionnaires and check-in, shaped around how we actually operate.

06clinic × ai

PreMed Clinic × AI

With AI, the people who build and the people who use become the same team.

Operations software has traditionally been split between the companies that build it and the medical facilities that use it. AI has sharply reduced the cost and time of building software, so people who know the floor can now build systems around how they actually work.
We develop as a small team working alongside AI agents. Feedback from trying a reservation ourselves, or a doctor's comments after looking at a screen, often reaches our staging environment the same day.
